Chroma

This time, THEIR challenge was actually OUR challenge. As a Studio, we frequently challenge ourselves to explore unfamiliar creative avenues and tackle new challenges. Most of our followers already know about Mertz Design Studio's proficiency in the beverage industry, but Chroma presented a unique opportunity for Mertz Design Studio to dive headfirst into the alcohol industry with a fresh perspective.

The Team dove headfirst into developing the branding, label design, and packaging for this aspirational seltzer brand. The project kicked off with extensive research, exploring current design trends and seeking the themes and symbols that define both BLINK and Cincinnati. From this foundation, "Chroma" emerged - a brand infused with the vibrant spirit of art and light that characterizes the festival.

Beyond the aesthetics, we took a hard look at Chroma’s identity, owning the copywriting and infusing the brand itself with a lighthearted, color-tinted tone of voice. The designs were tailored to create an immersive experience that resonates with consumers - much like BLINK itself.
